PS
Just for fun, two hours before Belmont post time, I'm posting Dr. Billy's ominous note.
Bill writes:

HEADLINES AFTER BELMONT
Zito finishes 1-2. Bad news, Mark - The Maven andDan Ilman, on DRF chat, both pick Reverberate. Beyer's pick not posted anywhere.

Response:
Ugh. I wrote "Kinky Handicapping" and "Kinkier Handicapping" but it looks like I'm DQed from writing "Kinkiest Handicapping" as it appears I've gotten too conventional. Could be the kiss of death, since I'm better when I'm a tiny minority. Too late, though, to get off. Gotta love Dr. Billy's pari-mutuel courage.

Please note that there was some missing text at the end of CX #20 -- here it is:

influenced me that much, but maybe they did make me push that "repeat wager" button and have the exacta for $2 rather than $1!  I'm gonna pat myself on the back today, but I think this shows the value of an internet cafe type of discussion.  Mark would need to be the moderator, and would be in charge of filtering out all the input and making it an orderly presentation.  Sounds like a big job, but someone's gotta do it!

Cramer responds:
I don’t recall anyone outside the C&X readership coming up with either of those two horses, and I hear from a lot of people. Canterbury has a $1 pick six, and I hope to be there for the Claiming Crown, where I’ll have access to trainers. Claiming Crown pps are published in DRFs across the country, and come out a day earlier, if I recall correctly. I’m toying with the logistics and legality of an “educational” and voluntary group pick, for fun, hoping that group synchronicity and informed minorities could help us invest less to make more, using the dynamics of The Wisdom of Crowds. Not consensus (which doesn’t work) and not voting on horses (which never works). I’ll introduce a possible structure in the next issue, and invite your opinions.
